Dr. Lei Yang received his PhD in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent System from the Institute of Image Processing and Pattern Recognition, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, China, in 2006. He then spent 2 years doing image processing algorithm research in OmniVision Technologies Inc. (Shanghai) before joining the Nonlinear Dynamics and Optics Group in Jun. 2008 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate. His research interests include image processing, pattern recognition, machine learning and control theory and applications. Now, he is working on an EPSRC funded research project focusing on image denoising and particle tracking in live cell fluorescence images. He is a member of IEEE.
